The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - too

The paperback of Bangkok Haunts is due out on the 16th. And for those who've not been lucky enough to read The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, the paperback is out on 24th July (just in time for someone to affix the International Dagger Winner stickers on the front?)

I'm not sure 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' was the "best" book I've read this year, but it was certainly the most gripping. and I really hope it wins. I read fast anyway, but I raced through this one - stopping was very hard. Not entirely sure why, but I think it may have been the seething intensity of the entire story. I do like Vargas et al, and am not a big fan of truly noir fiction, but having that level of emotion in a mystery was very striking.

(In the interests of full disclosure, I read the German translation, since it was available in paperback first. And was so struck by the page turning qualities that I grabbed the two sequels in hardcover. Also magnificent, though at the current publication rate it'll be a while before no. 3 hits English and I can share my feeling!)

Larsson's early death was certainly a real loss to fiction.

Good job of working in another set of possibly copycat covers without coming out and saying so!
