I thought Fire was possibly a better film than the book, and Hornet's Nest is pretty good, too. From what I could tell the third film excises some pretty substantial chunks from the book, including a fairly significant storyline - and it is no worse for it. As for buying the DVDs, some might want to be patient as there are two versions of the films, the cinema release and an expanded TV version. Hopefully they one day will all be released as a boxed set.
