This week's selection for "cover opinions" is the US and UK covers for Jill Paton Walsh's The Attenbury Emeralds.
So what are you thoughts on the US (LHS) and UK (RHS) covers? Which would entice you more to pick the book up if you were not familiar with Jill Paton Walsh's books?
If you have read it, how well do the covers suit the story?
Read the Euro Crime review by Lizzie of The Attenbury Emeralds.

I think they are both quite nice but I prefer the UK cover (the darker one). I haven't read the book, though.
The UK Cover attracts my attention more I think it's the big luscious Emerald sitting there immediately drawing your Eye to it
I have not read this particular novel, but the first Wimsey story by Paton Walsh (plus all Sayers´ novels). So based on my impression of the period and the detective, I´d definitely go for the more traditional. British cover.
I would have to say the UK cover. I think it stands out a bit more, and the prominence of Dorothy Sayers name on the cover grabs one's attention more.
Karen - I like the UK cover much better. It's more appealing and as Dorte says, more traditional. I think it's more in keeping with the era in which the novel takes place.
