I've read five on the gold longlist: Vengeance in Mind is a good, solid B+ ; was v disappointed in The Flight and The Child Who; The Rage (Kerrigan) is excellent; but Turn of Mind (La Plante) is "on another level" in the way that last year's winner, Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter, is on another level.
ReplyDeleteI've read two on the new blood - Good People is good but not a patch on Turn of Mind.
Based on what I've read, I'd be delighted if Turn of Mind wins the new blood and The Rage the gold, but I am not usually in tune with what wins these awards!
I'm hoping A Land More Kind Than Home wins!
