The trailer gives me hope. The three Swedish movies were exceptional in their faithfulness to the books. Everyone who read the books had their own image of Lisbeth but I had no difficulty adopting the Lisbeth on the screen. There is a resemblance between the Swedish Mikael and Daniel Craig.
The key to the movie's financial success will lie in the willingness of all those who read the books to take a chance on buying a ticket. Those who haven't read the books may find it difficult to follow the shifts in time and the incredible detail necessary to get the story across.
Those who haven't read the books should give themselves a treat for Christmas. I can't imagine any author doing what Larsson did in the trilogy.
