Branches - Cover Theme
The cover on the left is a recent US crime novel which is currently in the Goodreads best mystery/thriller nominees section for 2011. The cover on the right is the US edition of a young adult book I loved in 2009 (my review).
Hi Karen, oh dear I don't like these 'photo covers'. Unless done really well, I tend to think using photos for a cover can be a cheap, unimaginative option. But then that's just me. Back to the branches ... in this instance was the 'branches' theme cover pinched, and if so, how does it works copyright-wise? OR, because the photos are actually different, is there no copyright issue? Hm..is that why publishers use photos on covers, do you think? Cheers for some food for thought!
