S J Bolton's third standalone novel, Blood Harvest is one of the four finalists in contention for the 2010 CWA Gold Dagger.
There are two covers to consider today: the US hardback on the left which was published on 8 June and the UK hardback on the right which was published in April. The UK paperback is scheduled for May 2011.
So what are you thoughts on the US and UK covers? Which would entice you to pick the book up if you were not familiar with S J Bolton?
Here is the Euro Crime review, by Michelle, of Blood Harvest.
One on left I don't really get but like turquoise greens on covers and I can read everything--not a small thing.
ReplyDeleteRight hand one too dark and scary and I can't figure it out exactly.
I actually prefer the US one this time - a bit more subtle. I have pre-ordered the UK paperback one from book depository - not sure what cover I'll get.
ReplyDeleteKaren - I'm with Bernadette; I like the U.S. cover for this one, and usually I don't. This time, I think it is subtle but at the same time, attention-getting.
ReplyDeleteUK one definitely - the scarier the better. If I was browsing would not pick up the US one as it doesn't look my kind of book
ReplyDeleteUK cover.
ReplyDeleteI think the US picture is good, but it is hard to be objective with this one as I have read the two first, and the UK cover *screams* Bolton and makes me desperate to get my hands on it.
ReplyDeletethe UK one. the US one is a bit bland.
ReplyDeleteI like them both. I haven't read the book yet, though I have it (UK cover) on the shelf, so I don't know which one I think matches the content best. The US one is the most artistic and novel (compared with your average cover design), but the UK one makes the book seem more exciting.
ReplyDeleteHaving just completed the book, the UK dustcover is relevant to the story line. Haven't a clue what the US cover is picking up on in the book, if anything.
