A stimulating collection of reviews. Michelle certainly identified a few weaknesses of the Michael Dobbs book - I haven't read this one but have had similar problems with a couple of his earlier ones, and other "international crisis political thriller" novels - sustaining believability and interest once the basic plot becomes clear.
ReplyDeleteBangkok Haunts sounds interesting and different, will have to give this series a try.
I liked Geoff's review but I probably would not read another Lynda la Plante - I enjoyed her first books but noted a Patterson-like plunge in quality that makes me un-keen to return to her.
