This week's new reviews are - a second review of 'Punishment' by Anne Holt, reviewed by Karen Chisholm and a review of 'The Field of Blood' by Denise Mina.
The 'New Releases' pages have been updated.
In 'Books' the bibliographies for: Paul Doherty, Rosemary Rowe and Lyndon Stacey have been updated.
The contact email has been updated to karen@eurocrime.co.uk.
I was very keen to read Field of Blood, having read and enjoyed Mina's previous books. But I was rather disappointed in it- like you I thought it started well, but I thought it degenerated. After I finished it I read some reviews or articles about it that said Mina had written it as a "young adult" book -- that kind of makes sense (and not just becuase of the big print).
ReplyDeleteI have just finished Involuntary Witness on your and Crime Scraps (?) recommendation. I liked it a lot, have just read your review, and agree with your summary.
BTW when I clicked on "blog" on the sidebar of the review website, I got page not found (twice) so the link may be broken.
all best
Maxine.
I've #2 to read too. A lot of people have really loved FoB but I can't quite see why. Nice 'historical' piece but as I've said before I'm a good plot kind of a gal :-).
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know about the blog link - hope to have it fixed shortly. It only occurs when you're in an actual review page and my webmaster knows what's wrong!
