It's published by a small press, Five Leaves, and I think they're a bit surprised to have a book on the Dagger shortlists! But there's an online bookseller in the UK which only sells titles from small independent publishers. It's called Inpress Books, and you'll find 'No Way to Say Goodbye' there:
http://www.inpressbooks.co.ukStephen Boothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13951267775621744422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32065323.post-40770346757563661982009-09-08T07:54:12.983+01:002009-09-08T07:54:12.983+01:00I had a look at the New Blood shortlist on the CWA...I had a look at the New Blood shortlist on the CWA site, and thought that No Way To Say Goodbye by Ron Madocks looks interesting - so looked on Amazon and it isn't in stock. I wonder if it is even in print? I haven't checked out the other titles on this shortlist (ie the one that doesn't have the big names on it) but I hope that they are readily available, or that's a bit opportunity missed for these authors.Maxine Clarkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06628509319992204770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32065323.post-44134255909033908162009-09-07T21:19:57.710+01:002009-09-07T21:19:57.710+01:00Interesting that a translated novel qualifies for ...Interesting that a translated novel qualifies for the new blood shortlist although translated novels don't qualify (any more) for the gold dagger. I haven't read any of the other "new blood" entries (shame on me! How do I manage to miss all these good books?), but if Johan Theorin does not win for Echoes of the Dead - you will be able to knock me over with a feather! What a fantastic debut.
I am going to have to get reading on some of the other categories too - I am obviously woefully under-read in the crime fiction genre!
Do you know why the International and Library daggers are separate from these other awards?Maxine Clarkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06628509319992204770noreply@blogger.com
