As an illustrator of book jackets there are none that i think WOW i wish i had designed that, they all look very generic as if they have been designed by the marketing exec. The type on the UK PB version reads as 'RED MED' when i first looked, did anyone else see that?Michael A Hill Illustrationhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05402413871357990250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32065323.post-31734357671313657612011-11-07T16:47:26.752+00:002011-11-07T16:47:26.752+00:00Just noticed that I assume the woman in the knife ...Just noticed that I assume the woman in the knife in the UK pb is supposed to be Jenny the coroner, so I take back my last sentence above, though it couldn't be more "generic woman-like", you'd never guess she's supposed to be a coroner!Maxine Clarkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06628509319992204770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32065323.post-15318759899320438662011-11-07T15:58:18.926+00:002011-11-07T15:58:18.926+00:00I'd go with the Canadian one I think...I'd go with the Canadian one I think...Mikenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32065323.post-26318027489938438482011-11-06T20:20:00.996+00:002011-11-06T20:20:00.996+00:00Agree with Maxine they are all quite disappointly ...Agree with Maxine they are all quite disappointly generic covers. The US hardback is just current fashion/cliche - stone angels - rather last year actually! - I can't remember any angels in the book. The UK paperback is more sensationalist so I presume the idea is to sell more copies (as the HB would mostly be bought by libraries where sales aren't influenced by covers?).<br />I don't think any of the covers makes a serious attempt to illustrate the story, though, they are all just "stock images that you see all the time on crime books". Maybe a pic of the coroner would have been good, as she's the main series character.Maxine Clarkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06628509319992204770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32065323.post-80003483164068803352011-11-06T07:37:14.297+00:002011-11-06T07:37:14.297+00:00I don't like the Canadian cover. I like the UK hardback but as I haven't read the author I can't say if this reflects the writing. It makes me want to buy the book though which is the point really i supposeSarahhttp://crimepieces.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
